This may have been my favorite book of the series, so far, and also the worst book. I was feeling every emotion reading this book. There have been a lot of unexpected deaths throughout this series, but this time there was one death that actually caught me off guard. I wasn't ready to say goodbye! Why Rhodes, why? That one hurt and I don't think I can forgive you, at least not until Crystal Storm comes out next month. Have you seen that cover? It is gorgeous!
On the bright side, something that I was hoping would happen, FINALLY happened. Yay! Forgive my spoiler free vagueness. What did I love about this book? The plot twists (which I've come to expect and thoroughly enjoy), the action, the surprises, this book was full of them.
What did I dislike? Killing off a character I cared about. The torture scene. There was one, rather likable, character who was tortured, and I'm still traumatized. Do what you will to the bad guys, but please leave my favorites in tact!
Amara is one ruthless, cunning, vicious, strategic woman. I am completely intrigued by every scene she is in. I can't wait to see what she will do next. That ending! This book definitely left me breathless. I am so glad I waited to read this series until now, and it's a short wait for Crystal Storm, because if I had to wait a year it would be torture.
